‘Arrows’, the David Britto project, serves sun-soaked gospel featuring Raghav Meattle

Mumbai-based independent music project ‘Arrows’, the brainchild of musician and music journalist David Britto, is all set to release its third single ‘To Your World’ on Friday, July 30th, 2021. The ultimate warm and feel-good single is inspired by moving away from a relationship, but constantly being drawn back into situations surrounding it, the tune is a way of helping to understand that there’s more to life than a relationship and features Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle on vocal duties.

Blending some soft, laidback melodies and instrumentation, “To Your World” serves up sun-soaked gospel that’s perfect for any summertime playlist. The hypnotizing guitar melody over the delicious vocals makes you want to kick back, turn on the record player, spark a fun one, and just watch the clouds through your window drift away with all troubles.

“Through the verses of ‘To Your World’ I talk about wanting to shut the past down, while the chorus is me telling myself that there are more possibilities and new adventures to be had with life.” – David Britto

Working alongside Mumbai producer Yohanan D’Souza, they wanted to create a “jam band” feel. With a gentle but energised tone, “To Your World” emits an uplifting aura, with a warm bluesy-rock essence to the production. The drums and guitar give off a rock smoke, while the charming, fun piano riffs ooze a blues edge. Glowing brightly “To Your World” glistens with layered harmonies and soulful vocals from Raghav Meattle, who provides a familiar and comforting feeling.

Arrows began as a collaborative music project in 2018 where main-man David Britto invites guest vocalists to feature on his songs. The first of this saw singer-songwriter Vernon Noronha bringing to life the debut track ‘Spaces’ in 2019 followed by vocalist Siddharth Basrur singing on 2021’s ‘Buried to Dust’.
