After two really great releases last year, Yush! is back with his new song ‘Pride and Joy’. Soham Pathak aka. Yush! is a Singer – Songwriter and Music director/composer from Mumbai, India. His musical style is very western pop / retro synth pop music. In ‘Pride and Joy,’ Yush! is expressing what he feels through the song, things which he doesn’t have the courage to say in person to his muse. With her around him he’s got reasons to get serious about life, her, his choices and be himself, but insecurities still play a big part in his life and although he is happy with her, he doesn’t have what it takes (according to him) to be with her. Self-belief is what he lacks, and a relationship like this can be a plot for disaster and toxicity.
“Will you touch me touch me like you did? Will you hold me like you would? And I know for a fact that you won’t ever leave me girl”, he sings, alluding to a simple relationship, which he has complicated in his head, over poignant and dramatic synths.
You get the sense that Soham has as many sultry synth-pop bangers inside him as he pleases but, while he’s capable of dominating a more mainstream territory, he refuses to indulge in such temptations. Instead he’s taken the road less travelled, carefully placing his honey-sweet lines and choosing the moments to excite the senses musically.
Soham has composed and produced songs and scored music for around 8 films till date, two of them got him the “Best Music Director” award twice in the Marathi movie industry awards – Bioscope (2016), Nasheebwan (2019). Apart from that he also has been creating music for jingles, short films, documentaries and web series and has worked with clients like Bharatiya Digital Party – Bhadipa, Band factory, Hafele, Rapido, HDFC Bank, UTI bank, Bank Open and many more. Recently he has voice acted in a popular Amazon Audilble’s original show called “Love Columbus”.
